Melissa McCarthy: "Sometimes I Wish I Were Just Magically a Size 6"

Melissa McCarthy arrives at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on September 23, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.

Melissa McCarthy would happily lose a few pounds -- if she only knew how.

In the November issue of Good Housekeeping (excerpted via The Daily Mail), the 42-year-old Mike & Molly star speaks candidly about her struggle to lose weight. "Sometimes I wish I were just magically a size 6 and I never had to give it a single thought. But I am weirdly healthy, so I don't beat myself up about it -- it wouldn't help, and I don’t want to pass that on to my girls." (McCarthy and her actor husband, Ben Falcone, are parents to daughters Vivian, 5, and Georgette, 2.)

Because she regularly plays tennis and does Pilates, McCarthy is dumbfounded as to why she hasn't slimmed down. "I don't really know why I'm not thinner than I am," the Bridesmaids actress says. "I don't really drink soda, I don't have a sweet tooth, and we eat healthfully at home."

McCarthy knows she's not the only woman who is unhappy with her body. "Pretty much everyone I know, no matter what size, is trying some system," she tells the magazine. "Even when someone gets to looking like she should be so proud of herself, instead she's like, 'I could be another three pounds less; I could be a little taller and have bigger lips.' Where does it end?"

According to McCarthy, she's learned to make peace with her body by focusing on the positive. "You just have to say, 'It's pretty damn good. I am right here at the moment and I'm OK with it. I've got other things to think about.'"

McCarthy's new movie, Identify Thief, also stars Jason Bateman and Amanda Peet. It hits theaters nationwide on Feb. 8, 2013.

Hola, Gaga!

Lady Gaga enjoyed some R ' R in Isla Verde Beach in San Juan, Puerto Rico last Friday Nov. 2.

With  Born This Way Ball concert dates on the island and in the surrounding area, the "Judas" singer, 26, showed off her curvy figure in a two-piece Miller Light bikini -- with her recently dyed-brown locks piled atop her head -- hanging with pals DJ White Shadow and Tara Savelo in lounge chairs by the surf.

Back in September, Gaga was frank about her evolving body -- explaining that she gained about 30 pounds. Resulting comments about her fuller shape inspired the superstar to launch a "Body Revolution" on her fan site, encouraging others to embrace their shape and inner beauty.

"I thought, well I don't really care if they think I'm fat, because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds," the singer told Stylist UK last week. But she also brought another voluptuous superstar into the conversation: Adele.

"Adele is bigger than me -- how come nobody says anything about it? She's so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women."

Rumer Willis Rocks Retro-Inspired Bikini in Hawaii

Rumer Willis on vacation in Maui, Hawaii on November 3, 2012.

Rumer Willis showed off her toned and tanned bikini body while vacationing in Maui, Hawaii, Nov. 3. The Sorority Row actress wore a white, high-waisted, retro-inspired two-piece while soaking up the sun with pals.

The 24-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore is currently dating actor Jayson Blair, who plays Clay Clemmens on NBC's The New Normal. "We're homebodies," Blair, 28, told Us Weekly in mid-September, detailing their exhaustive TV-watching habits. "She was apprehensive, but I got her into Downton Abbey and Homeland. She watched the seasons in a day!"

Explained Willis, "I remember hearing all about Downton at the Globes, and I was like, 'Oh, I don't know.' And then I stayed up until 4 a.m. watching the season!"

Blair added that it's important to make time for themselves when they're not filming. (Willis recently wrapped production on the movie Six Little Word.)

"We really like to hang out and be together, maybe cook dinner, some wine potentially, and watch TV shows or movies," he told Us. "We're having a blast getting to know each other and it's more intimate than doing all the Hollywood stuff. It's one-on-one time and it's great. It's amazing. She's amazing!"

Do Willis' actor parents approve? "I think they do," she laughed.

Why Alton Brown can't eat Girl Scout cookies

Alton Brown attends "A Night With The Stars Of Food Network" on May 8, 2012 in New York City.

After losing more than 50 pounds a few years back, celebrity chef Alton Brown not only remained in the culinary industry, he became an even more frequent contributor to the Food Network. In addition to his now-defunct show "Good Eats," he signed on as host of the pro competition series "The Next Iron Chef," which starts its fifth season on November 4, and earlier this year served as a dedicated coach to contestants on the most recent installment of "Food Network Star." That means that everywhere he turns, there's food. But while Brown, 50, has kept his eating habits in check, he admits it's not easy.

"Yeah, I lost a lot of weight, I've kept most of it off, but it's still a constant, day-to-day battle for me," he tells omg!. And there are certain rules that Brown now lives by. "Never sit down to a meal really hungry, because if you sit down really hungry, by the time your brain even realizes you've eaten, you've cleared a plate twice the size of what you needed. I try to never let myself get that hungry," he shares. "You've got to learn that there's such a thing as a spoonful of ice cream. I wouldn't have believed that at one time. To me, a Ben and Jerry's carton was a single serving."

While the trained chef indulges in small portions of decadent items now and again, there are a couple of things he'll never allow himself. For one, Girl Scout cookies. "I can't have one," Brown confesses. "If you break the tube, you eat the tube." The second item? Milk. "I cook with milk, I use milk in a lot of ways, but I don't drink milk because it made me eat Girl Scout cookies."

The impetus to lose weight took place at the Food Network studios, where Brown was shooting an episode of "Good Eats." "One day I was looking at myself on the monitor and my head was out of frame, it was just my body. And for a split second I didn't know who that fat guy was," Brown recalls. "I was like 'Oh Ö that's me. Oh my God.' I had missed it. How do you miss something like that? How do you miss that you've let yourself go?"

He decided right then and there that it was time to get in shape since the big 5-0 was just a few years away. "I thought whatever shape I'm going to be in, I better be in by the time I hit 50, because they say when you turn 50, you're battling to just keep it," Brown says. "I turned 50 this year and I'm in better shape than I was when I was 20."

Nowadays, Brown has incorporated weight training at least three times a week, along with running and boxing into his fitness regime and only goes on a "diet" if his weight tops 175 pounds. He also says he gets satisfaction out of just simply cooking certain things for his wife and daughter, and not necessarily eating much of them.

"For instance, I am very good with red meat, it's a specialty of mine. I am very gifted with cow, so I might cook a bunch and as I'm slicing it, nibble a couple of pieces and then not serve myself any and serve it the rest of the family," he explains. "I will simply not put certain things on my plate."

On the upcoming season of "The Next Iron Chef," Brown oversees 10 chefs who are all already culinary superstars, but have another thing going for them: They've all been on the show before. The fifth season has been dubbed "The Next Iron Chef Redemption," and features chefs who've previously lost the competition and are now returning to try to claim the title.

"Everybody knows what it is to compete in these kinds of challenges on television and because of that everybody kind of hit the ground running," Brown explains. "And because of that, the food is way better because there was no learning curve. Everybody started at a much higher level and we knew that was going to happen, so we made the challenges harder."

When it comes to challenges in his own kitchen, namely, getting his 13-year-old daughter, Zoey, to eat healthy, Brown again has a couple of go-to rules. "You don't negotiate with terrorists. 'This is dinner. I am putting it on a plate. It is on the table. That is what you eat.' End of story," he says. "Now if I find something really healthy that my daughter likes to eat, I will make sure she gets more of it. My daughter happens to really like broccoli, so we eat more broccoli than the average family does and I have a lot of ways of cooking it."

With obesity on the rise in America, especially amongst the country's youth, Brown says he has sympathy for those in a tough situation who literally can't cook a healthy meal for their families.

"There are some people stuck in very, very difficult situations, working three jobs, single parents. It does exist and I feel for them because they're victims in a way and you get hungry and fast food is cheap and junk food is cheap and that's its own prison," Brown explains.

But, he says, most Americans don't fall into that category.

"For most people, being busy is an excuse. Yeah, cooking takes time, but very rarely do I see a life that there wasn't time that could have been freed up for that," Brown insists. "We still as a culture sit on our butts three hours a day watching television. We still play games on our computer. We read about food on the Internet, so how about cooking some?"

"The Next Iron Chef Redemption" premieres Sunday, November 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network.

Lady Gaga: "Adele Is Bigger Than Me" But No One Talks About It

Lady Gaga, Adele

Lady Gaga feels she's been unfairly criticized for not maintaining a perfect physique.

The "Born This Way" singer admitted to packing on the pounds in a mid-September radio interview, and since then, she started a "Body Revolution" on her Little Monsters website, where she asked people to embrace their figures and focus on inner beauty. When the 26-year-old spoke with Stylist UK about the movement, she drew attention to another famously curvy musician: British soul singer Adele, 24.

"I was acutely aware of some photos on the internet -- my mom called me and was like, 'Did you gain weight?' -- everybody was telling me about it, and I didn't really care," Gaga recalls. "I thought, well I don't really care if they think I'm fat, because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds."

She continued, "Adele is bigger than me -- how come nobody says anything about it? She's so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of woman. I need to be a confident woman and just say politically active things when I can that are helpful to young people." (Adele and her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, welcomed a baby boy in mid-October.)

The Grammy winner wishes more women would be supportive and encouraging instead of critical and demeaning. "We should all make an effort to be nice to one another all the time," Gaga says.

The native New Yorker (who's dating Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney) also shared her beauty mantra with Stylist UK. "Sit in front of the mirror with all of the paints and colors and wigs that you have at your disposal, and just have a real talk with yourself. 'What do I not like about me?' And then, peer into the mirror -- and just f-cking draw right over it because that's what makeup is here for. We're not all perfect -- it's meant to be fun so we can bond as women, and say, 'You know, what? We don't all feel perfect, but did you try that lipstick? It's divine.'"

PICTURE: Rihanna Goes Topless in Bed Morning After Halloween

Rihanna

Hot with a hangover!

On Halloween night, Rihanna played hostess for a costume bash at Graystone supper club in West Hollywood -- with on-again, off-again beau Chris Brown among the guests.

By Thursday morning, the "Diamonds" singer, 24, was ready to chill out at home in bed -- with nothing on, naturally.

"The morning after! Hello November," Rihanna wrote beneath a sultry new Instagram photo, in which she sits up in bed, topless, wearing just a viel with a crown from her princess-like costume from the evening prior.

Although Rihanna's nearly naked Thursday morning look raised more than a few eyebrows, it was Brown's Wednesday night costume that really shocked: The "Don't Wake Me Up" singer, 23, dressed up as a member of the Taliban, complete with white face makeup, traditional dishdasha garment and turban, with ammunition strapped to his chest and a pistol in his right hand. In an Instagram photo, Brown was flanked by four pals similarly garbed as Arabic terrorists.

Topless Lady Gaga Flaunts Weight Loss in "Cannabis Queen" Halloween Costume

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga's Halloween costume left little to the imagination, which isn't too surprising given her flair for theatrics. What was surprising, however, is how quickly the pop star was able to slim down after gaining "25 pounds" in mid-September.

To celebrate the holiday, the 26-year-old created her own ensemble. "I was weed for Halloween," Gaga tweeted Nov. 1. "Best costume ever! It's so fun. Princess High the Cannabis Queen."

Gaga then directed her 30.8 million Twitter followers to her Little Monsters website, where she posted a picture of herself wearing a green wig and matching armbands. The topless singer covered her nipples with green pasties made to look like cannabis leaves. She completed her look with a gold crown.

"Last night was paradise!" the Grammy winner tweeted.

The risque ensemble highlighted the singer's toned abs and thinner arms -- which was Gaga's intention, according to a source.

"She feels great," the source tells Us Weekly of the slimmed-down New Yorker. "She did little things like not drinking coffee or caffeine. . . She doesn't care particularly too much what people think, but she knew she looked good the last few nights and wanted to show it off."

The "Born This Way" chart topper had a strong support system to cheer her on while she toned up. "Whatever weight she's at, she looks phenomenal!" Gaga's trainer, Harley Pasternak, told Us in early October.

In a recent Little Monsters newsletter, Gaga also raved that her boyfriend, Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney, 31, "prefers me curvier. When I eat and am healthy and not so worried about my looks, I'm happy. Happier than I've ever been. I am not going to go on a psycho-spree because of scrutiny."
